Marilyn Espe-Sherwindt
Consultant for EURLYAID and for Ohio’s Project TREES
Marilyn Espe-Sherwindt, PhD, has spent her entire career in the field of ECI, beginning as a practitioner working directly with families and their children. Dr. Espe-Sherwindt recently retired as Director of the Family Child Learning Center (FCLC), a demonstration, research and training center at Akron Children’s Hospital that focuses exclusively on issues related to young children with disabilities and their families. She has directed multiple federal and state-funded demonstration, personnel preparation and outreach projects, and has served as the external evaluator for other projects. Her research publications, presentations and workshops have focused on collaboration, family-centered practices, family engagement, implementation science, early identification and intervention of ASD, and the use of technology to deliver early intervention services and supports. Dr. Espe-Sherwindt has served as adjunct faculty for the University of Cincinnati, the University of Southern California, Kent State University, and the University of Minho in Braga, Portugal. Currently she is loving her role as a consultant for Eurlyaid and for Ohio’s Project TREES (Tools and Resources for Engaging, Empowering and Supporting Families).
